APMEX Gold IRA – Precious Metals Dealer – Buy Gold and Silver
The American Precious Metals Exchange, now known as APMEX. APMEX Gold IRA is a well-known name in the IRA Rollover industry. They have a large customer base that extends throughout the country.
APMEX Gold IRA
APMEX has been in the business for many years and has experienced management at the helm. You would normally expect all this to give you confidence but a few worrying signs emerge when you research a bit deeper into this Company….
Customers’ Reports
There are a few organizations out there that allow customers to post their own reviews online about a particular company. Two of these services, The Complaints Board and the Ripoff Report, have some slightly disturbing information on them concerning APMEX.
APMEX The Complaints Board
The reviews on The Complaints Board include a number of negative comments. One person refers to the fact that in his opinion APMEX ships low-quality products, sending out inferior coins that aren’t as valuable as quoted. This particular complaint also refers to service issues with the company. Allegedly the customer tried to return what he considered to be an inferior product only to be told that he would have to pay the shipping and handling charges himself.
Another complaint also criticizes the customer service. This one refers to additional costs being incurred due to the customer having to reroute money to a different location than originally specified. Apparently, the customer sent the money to the institution that the APMEX agent directed but when speaking to the company the next day he was allegedly informed they had changed banks and that he needed to transfer the money to a different place. This left him considerably out of pocket. In their defense, APMEX did compensate him by sending him a certificate in gold, but the customer complains that this didn’t cover the fee that he lost.
APMEX The Ripoff Report
On the Ripoff Report website, there are also complaints about customer service. One customer says that this has slowly deteriorated. He claims to have been a loyal customer for many years and that he has experienced the service getting worse even though it wasn’t always that way. He states there has been a gradual deterioration which shows no signs of abating.
Another customer refers to the problems he encountered when he wanted to cancel an order. He claims that although he tried to work within the time frame that APMEX imposed, all his emails were either ignored or missed.
Conclusion
When looking at these complaints it could be easy to jump to conclusions. It must be remembered however that most complaints are one-sided and it could well be as much consumer error as the fault of the company itself. Sometimes people like to blame others without taking responsibility for their own wrongdoings.
However, this doesn’t exclude the fact that APMEX has a number of bad reviews on the web, even though it has a lot of good ones as well. We recommend that you do your own research and draw your own conclusions about this company.
